To clear the stupid questions (that I’ve had techs do with Samsung in the past month though not sure if it was a QMġ- Make sure they’re actually plugging into the MDC IN jack, not the audio in that is also an 1/8” jack and on some displays right next to MDC IN (e.g. HTPC, with MP installed, and the IRSS plugin installed. Really easy do get in the wrong place if you’re reaching your hand under a display on a fixed mount or just moving too quicklyĢ- Make sure they’re on the MDC IN and not the MDC out – not all Samsungs that speak MDC have an out jack but on those that do the out is sometimes moreģ- Make sure the connector is fully seated. Connect the DB9 (RS-232) to USB to your PC (USB end) and install the driver. Connect the 2 DB9 ends of the Serial to USB and Ex-link cables, plug the 3.5mm jack into the Samsung TV service port. Some Samsungs require an extra (firm) little push to get it the last little bit in. The official Samsung cableĮven has a little warning sticker about this.īeyond that see if you can get the tech to send you pictures of the disply showing that it is set for 232 and not network and which ID it is set for. Control for the Sammy is through the EX link port. 98% of the time they’re either looking at something completely different, providing an alternate Things remotely but when have to and things aren’t making sense I’ll ask for pictures to make sure what the tech is looking is what I actually asked them to look at. Ive been away from this forum for a very long time But like a bad penny, I keep coming back I need to replace my failing Samsung UN60ES7500 flat screen with a Samsung UN65KS9800.
